資訊時代讓教學活動不再僅止於課堂內，在網路的蓬勃發展下誕生了「虛擬教室」，因而跨越傳統教室的藩籬。「虛擬教室」是一個網上教學的環境，亦可謂「遠距同步教學平台」。教師可以透過個人電腦的視訊講學，並與學生進行線上討論，除了教學外，也可作為視訊會議使用，提供跨地區或與國外進行學術交流聯繫的便捷途逕。有鑑於此，本學期開放「虛擬教室」，每間教室可容納100人上線，歡迎師長申請測試使用。本期新知專欄邀請本中心教學組系統工程員林信雄先生介紹「虛擬教室」之應用...<more>
With the proliferation of network and virtualization technology, “Virtual Classroom” is made possible in today’s learning environment. With a PC, users can use the “Virtual Classroom” to participate in a video conference (with a maximum of 100 attendee) or engage a learning experience through the internet. Mr. Lin Xinxiong, a system engineer from education service team of NTNU ITC will show us how to use the “virtual classroom”. |

NTNU ITC now offers 5 virtual classrooms for university faculties to use. Each room can accommodate up to 100 users, and every room can be used as a classroom for education purpose or as a conference room. User can share digital media with each other or record the entire session for record keeping purposes. |

Class registration process has become paperless!Starting this semester, students will no longer receive a paper confirmation of their class registration. To confirm one’s class registration, one should login university’s information portal to make confirmation during Oct. 1 to 7. Class registration will be regarded as completed if no online confirmation is made. |

New semester, new computer labs!
We made several upgrades to the computer labs across the campus during this summer. In Gongguan campus, some of the computer labs can accommodate up to 60 users and a broadcast system is installed to allow instructors to share same digital media across multiple computer labs, merging several computer labs into one virtual lab.

The Ministry of Education conducted a computer information security test using the methods of social engineering. Those who failed the test (opened the wrong email), please take the related class to increase your defense against social engineering attacks. There will be a 2nd test conducted in September, 2010. To help the computer users increase their defense against social engineering attacks, university ITC is hosting 4 classes and all the faculties and staffs are welcome to register.

賀！人發系四年級胡依蘋同學榮獲八月份優良諮服員，胡同學謙恭有禮、主動熱心現場提供諮詢協助，提攜新進工讀生不遺餘力，亦常針對中心服務提出建言，認真盡職的態度足為表率。
ITC awarded Hu, Yi-ping, a senior student from the department of human development and family studies as the best employee for August. Miss Hu was recognized for helping university ITC improve its services and her courteous as well as proactive attitude towards the computer users in needs.
